Bluegrass FLOW supported the idea that the city of Lexington should purchase the privately owned Kentucky American Water Company.
A public referendum was defeated Nov. 7, 2006 that if approved would have had the city pursue the purchase of the water company by using its power of emminent domain if necessary .
